Alpert Medical School

The Alpert Medical School at Brown University offers graduates a Doctor of Medicine Degree as well as a variety of joint degree programs. Besides the Doctor of Medicine Degree, there are other combination degrees such as MD/PhD Program and MD/MPP Program. There five Basic Science Departments at Brown. They are Ecology and Evolutionary Biology; Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry, Molecular Microbiology and Immunology; Molecular Microbiology and Immunology; Molecular Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biotechnology; and Neuroscience. There are 14 Clinical Departments at Alpert Medical School (both Clinical Neurosciences count as one department). They are Clinical Neurosciences: Neurology, Clinical Neurosciences: Neurosurgery, Community Health, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopaedics, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Radiation Oncology, and Surgery. Graduates attending Alpert Medical School may also participate in Research. There are six laboratories for researching: Bearer Lab, Laboratory of Molecular Medicine, Hoffman-Kim Laboratory, Multidisciplinary Laboratory, the Primary Care Genetics Laboratory and Translational Research Center, and Wharton Lab. Alpert Medical School at Brown University has a large amount of department and laboratories so that graduates may have a vast education.
