College of Architecture and Planning

The School of Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) is made of five main divisions: the Department of Architecture, the Department of Urban Studies & Planning, the Media Laboratory, the Center for Real Estate, and the Center for Advanced Visual Studies. Graduates attending the School of Architecture have a wide range of degrees they may earn. There are two types of degrees they may earn: a variation on the Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.). In Architecture, there are seven degrees in which graduates could earn, as well as several Dual Degree programs. These degrees vary from Master of Science in Building Technology to PhD in Building Technology. In the field of Planning, there are four degrees that graduates may earn as well as several Dual Degrees. The degrees in Planning vary from Master in City Planning to PhD in Urban Studies and Planning. In Media Lab, there are three degrees graduates may earn. In Real Estate, graduates may earn a Master of Science in Real Estate Development. In Visual Studies, graduates may earn the Master of Science in Visual Studies. Graduates attending the School of Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have a wide range of fields in which they may earn a Master’s or Doctoral Degree.
