School of Medicine

The School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania offers graduates their education through ten Basic Science Departments and over 15 Clinical Departments. The Basic Science Departments are Biochemistry and Biophysics, Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Cancer Biology, Cell and Developmental Biology, Genetics, Medical Ethics, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, and Physiology. The Clinical Departments range from Anesthesiology and Critical Care to Family Practice and Community Medicine to Ophthalmology. Through these departments, graduates are offered their various degree programs. There are four degree programs that are offered to graduates attending the School of Medicine. They are they Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Program, the Doctoral (Ph.D.) Program, the Medical-Doctoral Dual Degree Program, and the Masters Programs. The Masters Programs range from Master of Bioethics to Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology. There are Doctoral Programs in fields from Immunology to Pharmacological Sciences. The School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania offers graduates a wide variety of degree programs through its many departments.
