Thayer School of Engineering

The Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College offers undergraduates two types of degrees: Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) and Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.). Undergraduates can also participate in the Duel-Degree Program, in which they can combine a Bachelor’s Degree from their own college with a B.E. from the Thayer School of Engineering. There are a variety of majors in which undergraduates can earn a Bachelor of Arts: Engineering Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. In each of these majors, there are a variety of courses, such as in Biomedical Engineering, there are courses in Science of Materials and Solid Mechanics. Undergraduates may earn a Bachelor of Engineering in all of these fields, but with different courses. In Computer Engineering, undergraduates may take such courses as Numerical Methods in Computation and Engineering Design Methodology and Project Initiation. There are also a variety of Non-Major Courses. There are such courses as Introduction to Technology and Virtual Medicine and Cybercare. Undergraduates attending the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College are offered two different types of degrees as well as many Non-Major Courses.
