Massachusetts Institute of Technology

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is a research university located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. MIT has a total of 32 academic departments, with a strong major on scientific and technological research. MIT researchers were involved in efforts to develop computers and radar during World War II and the Cold War. In fact, MIT has spent billions of dollars in research. This money is not all in vain, as many MIT students have gained the Nobel Prize later on. There are over 100,000 alumni, and counting, many of whom were chosen as Rhodes Scholars. MIT usually enrolls over 4,000 undergraduates. MIT is named a sea-grant college and a space-grant college for MIT’s support of space and marine sciences. An important, pleasant factor of being an undergraduate, is that undergraduates are guaranteed four-year, dormitory housing. Undergraduates also have a huge coexistence with graduates and professional students. This gives undergraduates additional education.
