Northwestern University
Northwestern University is a private university located in Illinois. This college specializes in medicine, law, and management. The undergraduate year helps prepare people who would be returning for graduate school at Northwestern University. The university has eleven different colleges and enrolls over 8,000 undergraduates each year. In addition, the percent of “White” population is more than double that of the next largest ethnic population. This shows that Northwestern University is not biased, but does indeed accepts a large amount of whites as compared to Asians and Africans. To maintain this large amount of students, Northwestern University has hired over 2,750 faculty members. This university offers over 130 undergraduate programs. Northwestern University gave over 2,000 bachelors degrees in 2007. Undergraduates with the highest GPA’s (grade point average – top 3%) receive special awards for excellence. Northwestern’s athletics are not great but not poor. It excels in some areas but never really breaks away from the pack as amazing.
