College of Engineering and Applied Sciences

The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania offers undergraduates two different degrees they may earn: the Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) or the Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.). There are six departments at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences: Bioengineering, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Electrical and Systems Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering and Applied Sciences. Undergraduates also may earn joint and dual degree programs that link the majors in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences to another one of the University of Pennsylvania’s undergraduate schools. The College of Engineering and Applied Science offers undergraduates minors in all departments except for Bioengineering. There are also two minors that do not fall into any department: Minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship and Minor in Nanotechnology. There is also a special minor offered in Cognitive Science. Undergraduates attending the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania are offered a wide variety of majors and minors so that students earn a deep and vast education.
