Kyoto University
Kyoto University is an important university in Japan. Kyoto was once an Imperial Japanese college, but after World War II, it was abolished and reformed with a new name (Kyoto). It is the second oldest university and currently the second best college in all of Japan. It is bested only by the University of Tokyo. It is consistently in the top 20 of the world and consistently in the top 5 of Asia. Kyoto is a hardcore engineering and sciences school that works their students hard. Some of these classes are: Chemistry, Medicine, Engineering, Biology, Radiation studies, Environment, and Virus research. Kyoto University has several campuses which consist of: Yoshida, Kyoto, Gokashō, Uji, and Katsura, Kyoto. Gokasho is mainly used for laboratory work and Yoshida is the main campus. There has only been one Japanese prime minister from Kyoto, because most students who graduate from the university pursue science and engineering careers as opposed to politics.
