Trinity College
Trinity College, Dublin is from Ireland’s oldest and most successful university. It is in a unique partnership with the University of Dublin. They are often considered one body, and only in name do they differ. Trinity ranks in the top 50 of the world, top 15 of Europe, and always number 1 in Ireland. Trinity is one of the ancient English-speaking universities. It is the only one outside Great Britain. Women were not allowed to attend Trinity until the 20th century, who then proved themselves worthy and were successful throughout their careers. Trinity’s academics are laid out in a similar fashion to that of the University of Oxford. That fashion is dividing the school year into three terms rather than the norm of two terms. Trinity has the typical four years to obtain a bachelors degree. About 30% of students attending Trinity are post-graduate, and most are pursuing a career in engineering or law.
