Uppsala University

Uppsala University is a prestigious Swedish university and always ranked in the top 75 of the world. Uppsala University is the oldest college in all of the Nordic countries. Uppsala is very well known for its extensive history given the fact that it has many centuries of events. This is one of the top universities in Europe, and definitely the best in Sweden. This university has over 20,000 students, 10% of which are pursuing majors in the doctoral area. Women were not allowed to pursue academic careers until the 19th century. However, it was not until mid 20th century that a woman obtained a professional chair position at the university. Uppsala has a library and hospital in which students actively interact with. Uppsala University is pretty competitive in their sports but didn’t really get coaches and masters until the 19th century. Due to its predominant age, Uppsala has produced over 15 Nobel Prize winners and several royal figures.
